7 Ways of Removing Sweat Stains

Ammonia

Dab the area with a half-strength solution of ammonia and water before washing.

Aspirin

Two aspirins mixed with half a cup of water should be allowed to set in for one or two hours.

Baking Soda

Making a paste made from 4 tablespoons baking soda and 1/4 cup warm water can help with a variety of stains.

Lemons

Dab a mixture of equal parts lemon juice (or white vinegar) and water.

Shampoo

Shampoos break down biological oils so put a small amount onto the spot that bears the stain.

Use a toothbrush to scrub and then rinse with water. Scrub for a while and rinse with water.

Salt

Salt’s the secret to getting rid of those stubborn yellow perspiration stains on shirts. Dissolve 4 tablespoons salt in 1 quart (1 litre) hot water. Just sponge the garment with the solution until the stain disappears.

Vinegar

Pour a bit of vinegar directly onto the stain, and rub it into the fabric before placing the item in the wash. You can also remove deodorant stains from your washable shirts and blouses by gently rubbing the spot with undiluted vinegar before laundering.
